"The International Person of Leather will be selected on their ability to articulate their views, passions, and dedications and to make an impact in their communities. We expect the International Person of Leather to be a mentor, educator, role model and spokesperson throughout their title year and beyond. The International Person of Leather Contest is a celebration of the diversity in the Leather community and the title of International Person of Leather exists to promote that diversity. At International Person of Leather we say “One Title, One Community”. This reminds us that while IPOL is held by one person, the title is not just about individual recognition, but about lifting up the wider Leather family across identities, regions, and experiences.
