< BACK TO QUILT Les Bon Temps The group Les Bon Temps (LBT) was formed in April 2012 in Mobile, Alabama by Mistress Amirah. The name of the group is a take on the French phrase “Laissez les bon temps rouler” which translates to “let the good times roll” and is heavily associated with Mardi Gras which began in Mobile. Les Bon Temps translates to “the good times.” LBT is dedicated to having a good time through education and risk aware consensual kink. We host munches and educational events for members and guests from other BDSM, Kink, and Leather groups along the Gulf Coast and beyond. We are a pansexual, BDSM, kink, and Leather group and welcome all persons of all genders, identities, sexualities, races, and roles. LBT’s first munch was on April 17, 2012 at a Ruby Tuesday’s in Mobile, Alabama. Our first educational demo/class was on April 21, 2012 and was on canes and paddles. Our second demo/class was on May 26, 2012 on the history of the Leather lifestyle and BDSM. The group added coffees to the roster of events in July 2013 and along the way play parties were also added. In 2015 LBT expanded and began holding events in neighboring Baldwin County as well after the passing of the leader and closure of the group meeting there. Over the years LBT has given back to the local community. LBT has organized a toy drive during the holiday season as well as fundraisers for lifestyle community members dealing with loss of home due to fire, unexpected funeral costs, cancer, flood victims in Louisiana, Hurricane Michael victims in the Panama City area, and severe illness. LBT’s logo was designed in approximately 2014/2015 by Mistress Morgayne utilizing the group’s colors of red, black and grey/silver. LBT introduced patches and pins with group colors/logo for its tenth anniversary in April 2022. < BACK TO QUILT House of Reaper House of Reaper was formed in 2008 by the Late Sir Wayne and Lady Angel. Originally it was not defined as a Leather Household, but they had the same core values. Sir Wayne and Lady Angel’s love for one another is what laid the foundation for the five principles to lay the foundations of what their family would be built upon and to continue its legacy. Respect, Trust, Honor, Obey, and Love. In order to respect others, you must respect yourself first. In order to trust others, you must trust yourself first. In order to honor others, you must honor yourself first. In order to obey or have them obey you, you must obey yourself first. In order to love others, you must love yourself first. Sadly, May 2017, Sir Wayne passed away from pancreatic cancer after a long two-year battle. Lady Angel became Head of the House of Reaper. With Sir Wayne’s passing, Lady Angel sought a mentor to guide her in her Leather journey. Her mentor is NC Master who has become Lady Angel’s Leather Father. June 2017, House of Reaper became a Leather Household, and formerly became one of the seven Leather Households that makes up the greater NC Master Family. House of Reaper is a diverse family with its members possessing different backgrounds, talents, and skills. Their diversity is the hallmark and sense of pride of what it means to be a member of this house. There are dominants, submissives, switches, a babygirl Domme, pets of different persuasions. < BACK TO QUILT The Leather Colorado Foundation The Leather Colorado Foundation produces contests for Mr. Leather Colorado, Mr. Colorado Rubber, Colorado Bootblack, Ms. Leather Colorado, and Miss Leather Colorado. The oldest of these contests, Mr. Leather Colorado, was first held in 1980 and is the second longest-running leather contest in the US, second only to International Mr. Leather. The other contests have been added over the years to include the interests of other people within our community. We facilitate confidential leather discussion groups and demonstrations. QLAS encourages the establishment of safe and interesting environments conducive to the support, encouragement, and advancement of all aspects of the leather lifestyle. We support safer sex and safer sex educational programs that encourage individual responsibility, as well as personal freedom to make informed choices and decisions regarding sex and sex play. We are dedicated to community involvement to educate, end discrimination against sexual minorities, and promote philanthropic endeavors in our society. < BACK TO QUILT South Plains Leatherfest South Plains Leatherfest was created in 2000 by Mark Frazier. Master Jim and slave marsha coordinated the Master/slave workshops track for Mark in 2000 and then joined him as co-producers and owners after SPLF 2002. Sir Cougar later joined the team and Mark left after he acquired ownership of International LeatherSir/Leatherboy in 2008. Since its inception, South Plains Leatherfest has hosted the International Master slave Contest (IMs) annually. In March 2020, Master Jim, slave marsha and Sir Cougar announced that they would step aside from producing SPLF and the IMs Contest. The process of transition was delayed due to Covid and in 2021, they named Tomo as the new Owner and Producer of SPLF and the IMs Title System. Master Jim, slave marsha and Sir Cougar produced SPLF and the IMs Contest for the last time in March 2022. SPLF thanks Master Jim, slave marsha and Sir Cougar with deepest gratitude for all the work they have generously given to our community for so many years and honor them with the status of SPLF Producer Emeritus with our admiration and respect. More recently, South Plains Leatherfest became the new home of the Internal Person of Leather Contest (IPOL), which is now produced alongside the IMs Contest each year. Founded in 2015 by Jazz, Mr. Andrew Love, and Master Tallon, the goal of the International Person of Leather is to promote and celebrate the diversity of Leather Culture throughout our Community. In 2022, the Founders transferred ownership and production rights of the IPOL contest system to Tomo, naming Tomo as the new Owner. SPLF honors Jazz, Mr. Andrew Love and Master Tallon for their vision for this community, which was brought to life through years of hard work and care. As the Owner and Producer of South Plains Leatherfest, the IMs Title System and the IPOL Title System, Tomo brings many years of work in event production, decades of service as a member of the Leather Community, and the experience as a former IMs Titleholder to the job. With these skills, along with Tomo’s drive and capability, SPLF (along with the IMs & IPOL Title Systems) is in solid hands to thrive as it continues in this new generation. At South Plains we offer a place where all of us in Kink and Leather can gather in community and share connection, skills, social time and celebrate relationships that exchange authority. South Plains Leatherfest welcomes all folx from the Leather, Master slave, Kink, BDSM, Fetish and Authority Exchange communities to come together and embrace the magnificent range of kink that we present. This group brings together those that desire to learn and would like to further personalize and define leather values in a nonjudgmental arena that suits their individual D/s relationships in the 21st century. The construct of Vanguard Leather is one of innovation through education. When a person considers identifying as “leather”, they may have a preconceived notion of what leather means based on the people they have encountered identifying as leather folk. This group seeks to educate about the “old guard” leather traditions but really aims to create a synergy with new relationship dynamics, ethics and moral fiber so that the members can personalize what works for them.
