< BACK TO QUILT R.A.I.S.E. R.A.I.S.E., formally known as the Bear’s Lair Leather Family and House, began its journey in early 2012, in the San Francisco Bay Area, in California. As the Bear’s Lair Family and House, members volunteered, donated, hosted parties, taught, sponsored, and demonstrated for a multitude of organizations, venues, and events over the years, including Tri-Valley Kinky Lunch Brunch Munch, The Legion of Sin, Motorcycle Club, The San Francisco Leather Alliance, The San Francisco Citadel, Northwest Leather Celebration, MAst-Livermore, Folsom Fringe, Mr. SF Leather Contest, Leather Ally, and Folsom Street Fair. In 2020, we relocated, due to the Pandemic and family medical needs to South Georgia. When the Pandemic subsided, we began attending, sponsoring, volunteering, and hosting, as many community events, parties, and conferences as possible. In 2022, we in collaboration with rapture of the mind, began The Valdosta, Georgia Munch and a non-profit organization, The South Georgia Leather and Kink Collective. Both include their own respective Discord sites. For 2024, we as a Family, decided to rebrand with the acronym R.A.I.S.E. that more aligns with our shared goals and direction. Our founding members, under our reorganization are Master Bear, Kiterra, Demi, and Pony. Our family is comprised of LGBTQ, plus members and culturally diverse. We are passionate about reaching out, as advocates and to serve our amazing community, in all its glorious facets and forms. Here, all are welcomed, loved, and supported. < BACK TO QUILT Domus Sadicus DOMUS SADICUS is a 24/7, M/s, TPE, Victorian-Leather Household that was established in 2010. It is a House that embraced and melds an evolving and dynamic style of Leather, including but not limited to: Traditional Leather, Victorian, Gorean, Gothic, Military and Alfredian. Lady Marquetta is the Mistress of the House of Domus Sadicus. A myriad of activities and events occur within Domus Sadicus, but Domus Sadicus is far more than a place, it is a mindset, a philosophy and a lifestyle, where etiquette, protocol are not only practiced as a manner of behavior but defines as a part of its core to what Domus Sadicus is. It is a House that holds Strength, and Honor as its core tenets, and doctrine of decorum. Domus Sadicus is a House in which all levels of Protocol are a mainstay. Protocol, etiquette and anticipatory service define a manner of service that Lady Marquetta describes as Alfredian Service, (Think of kinky version of Batman’s Alfred). Domus Sadicus is a House that is grounded in Education. As a continual component of inner-growth, education, Domus Sadicus endeavor to further teaching and the learning, where they become a dynamic dance that broadens, enlightens and illuminates the minds, heart and soul. Domus Sadicus continues to be involved in lifestyle education within the Colorado community, and offers classes through Colorado Etiquette and Protocol, a group that attempts to further lifestyle education with its many diverse facets. Domus Sadicus is a House that holds Family dear, and its family includes many within and beyond the Colorado community, and where all members of the community will find a refuge of safety, openness and acceptance, where all people of the lifestyle will find a welcoming Mistress, and fellowship for all. About the House Arms: The House arms of Domus Sadicus depicts, (working inward out) a silver-colored steel shield with a purple border emblazoned with three talon tears of red, and a triskelion of blue and purple. The silver steel shield symbolizes strength and protection, the red talon tears represent the primal nature of Lady Marquetta’s Dominance, the red represents emotion and the life energy we all emit. The triskelion represents: Body, Mind and Soul, the color purple signifies grace, etiquette, and civility to all. The blue symbolizes tranquility, temperance and control as a balance to emotion. The two rampant lions in red represent Honor and support for the House and all its elements. Additionally, as the supporters, they embody Leonis as Lady Marquetta’s slave and protector; the red represents the blood bound nature of their symbiotic relationship. The black field symbolizes the dark nature of the lifestyle that brings us enlightenment. The motto: Virtus et Honos is Latin which translates as Strength and Honor. Furthermore, Virtus also carries with it additional meanings, including: courage, bravery, virtue and character. < BACK TO QUILT Leather Solidarity Collective Amid the groundswell of the George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests that rang loudly across the nation and globe in 2020, a group of passionate folks in the Leather, BDSM, and Kink Communities banded together to bring antiracist activism to our own Leather/Kink Lifestyle Community through a series of several virtual town halls—“Navigating Racism During Two Pandemics.” This diverse group of strong BIPOC Leaders and fierce Allies and Advocates lived in different states, belonged to different organizations, identified across the gender and sexuality spectrum, and did their kink, fetishes, and relationships differently. However, their shared passion and commitment to bring social justice awareness to our consciousness created a bond that built…The Leather Solidarity Collective. < BACK TO QUILT Butchmanns Butchmanns, Inc. was a 501c3 non-profit educational organization dedicated to self-actualization and the ending of suffering. Butchmanns facilitated and fostered spiritual growth and transformation by providing grants and educational opportunities to those often wrongfully stigmatized for their sexual expression, non-traditional relationships and/or unconventional spiritual practices. Butchmanns promoted the use of physical practices and the conscious exchange of personal power for spiritual awareness. We recognize all life-affirming spiritual paths as valid, affirm all mutually beneficial relationships as inherently sacred, and embrace adults of every age, race, body type, physical ability, sexual orientation, and gender identity. The Butchmanns Experience is an intensive educational weekend designed to provide an opportunity for self-discovery in pursuit of self-actualization. The event includes hands-on training in basic SM practices, protocol and rituals, and a view of leadership and obedience through the lens of Master/slave dynamics. Butchmanns Experience allows us to explicitly visit areas that challenge and soothe us for the purpose of identifying who we are. Happiness comes from living authentically. When we are ready to be who we truly are, we encounter the next step on our path. The emphasis of activities is on personal transformation and growth and includes intentional flogging, ritual temporary piercing, the call to serve and be served, and transformational mummification. These activities are further explored through in-depth discussions. The environment is structured to encourage safely entering new experiences, with the instructors and staff supporting each individual?s unique experience. The Butchmanns Experience continues the spirit and tradition of the nationally known Butchmanns Academy.
