< BACK TO QUILT The House of The Black Lily The House of The Black Lily was founded in June of 2001 by Master Lily who is Head of House. The House of The Black Lily has a rich and beautiful herstory as a third generation household with a strong Leather lineage birthed from the women who came before. Master Lily's Leather Mother and mentor, Goddess Lakshimi, Ms. World Leather 2003 being the generation before her, and GrandDaddi Jill Carter IMsL 1996, and grandma Vi Johnson of The Carter-Johnson Library & Collection, being the primary foremothers. They have all supported and inspired her Leather journey. The House of The Black Lily is a vampiric house, like that of its predecessors, which is symbolized by the drop of blood above the letter i in the HOH's name; it's also a community service, and teaching oriented household. It has many active members and mentees on both sides of the slash, many of whom have mentees of their own. This House truly embodies the philosophy of “Each one Teach one”, a torch Master Lily has the privilege of carrying through having had it placed upon her during her covering ceremony! The HoH, and many house members educate actively at events around the world, judge leather competitions, fundraise, have held space for the community, done rescue work, held board positions, become members of or assisted clubs and organizations, fetish model, participate in podcasts and rep for multiple lifestyle based companies. < BACK TO QUILT Talon Clan Primal Pack Talon Clan is a primal pack in the Triad area of NC that was formed in 2012. Early members wore a pair of dewclaw spurs to represent the Pack in the community. In late 2015 a desire for change and more community involvement was shared by members. Artwork for a patch and flag were designed by members and implemented in 2016 to better represent Talon Clan moving forward. We are passionate about supporting fellow Leather clubs, LGBTQIA events, and BDSM organizations. We encourage education by hosting discussions, demonstrations, and teaching classes for both new and established individuals. We promote inclusivity to strengthen diversity and advocate for acceptance. We serve the community with philanthropy by hosting fundraisers and donating time, skills, and funds to worthy causes. < BACK TO QUILT Vanguard Leather Vanguard Leather is a pansexual sex and weird positive group that integrates education from old guard leather traditions with new leather, other protocol related customs and relationship dynamics. This group brings together those that desire to learn and would like to further personalize and define leather values in a nonjudgmental arena that suits their individual D/s relationships in the 21st century. The construct of Vanguard Leather is one of innovation through education. When a person considers identifying as “leather”, they may have a preconceived notion of what leather means based on the people they have encountered identifying as leather folk. This group seeks to educate about the “old guard” leather traditions but really aims to create a synergy with new relationship dynamics, ethics and moral fiber so that the members can personalize what works for them. They can take this knowledge, experiment and incorporate what works into their dynamic. We encourage mentorship established in your community, as well as being an active member of your community. < BACK TO QUILT House of Reaper House of Reaper was formed in 2008 by the Late Sir Wayne and Lady Angel. Originally it was not defined as a Leather Household, but they had the same core values. Sir Wayne and Lady Angel’s love for one another is what laid the foundation for the five principles to lay the foundations of what their family would be built upon and to continue its legacy. Respect, Trust, Honor, Obey, and Love. In order to respect others, you must respect yourself first. In order to trust others, you must trust yourself first. In order to honor others, you must honor yourself first. In order to obey or have them obey you, you must obey yourself first. In order to love others, you must love yourself first. Sadly, May 2017, Sir Wayne passed away from pancreatic cancer after a long two-year battle. Lady Angel became Head of the House of Reaper. With Sir Wayne’s passing, Lady Angel sought a mentor to guide her in her Leather journey. Her mentor is NC Master who has become Lady Angel’s Leather Father. June 2017, House of Reaper became a Leather Household, and formerly became one of the seven Leather Households that makes up the greater NC Master Family. House of Reaper is a diverse family with its members possessing different backgrounds, talents, and skills. < BACK TO QUILT House Argus House Argus is a gay, polyamorous, authority based, BDSM, Leather family and household. The household consists of Master Michael as head of household, along with his hus-boy Patt, alpha slave Marty and several newbies who are dedicated to the development of the next generation Master/slave “kinksters”. This is accomplished by positive mentorship, active demonstration, role-modeling, mindful community involvement, and knowledge-based training with an emphasis on “teaching forward” within a safe, sane and consensual environment. About the Family Crest Emblem: House Argus was selected as our family name from Greek Mythology – the Eyes of Argus. Argus Panoptes was a guardian of the herd and lord of the land. He had multiple eyes (one hundred), which enabled him to leave some eyes open while sleeping – always awake and vigilant. Also in the novel "Luka and the Fire of Life", by Salman Rushdie, Argus was one of the five appointed guardians of the 'Fire of Life'. Argus' virtue embodied with the alertness and guardianship is how we feel towards our obligation as guardians of our BDSM Leather lifestyle. The family crest or emblem was created by boy Patt and was assisted by slave Marty. It was inspired by the BDSM emblem, where the three holes from the “triskele” were brought in as the basis of the design. In addition to the intrinsic multiple meanings, the three holes represent three main elements of the leather family – Master, Boy, and Slave. The blue crescents encircling the three holes signify the pattern of the infinity knot. This symbolizes the unrelenting communication, support, and protection among the family members. Ultimately, this represents the backbone or glue that each of us brings and holds the group together as one united family. The blue crescents form a space in the center, where a red circle is situated. This represents the heart of the house and symbolizes the unity of all the members of the family past, present, and future, as well as a tribute to the two Masters who inspired this household. The colors selected and used in the design of our family crest are inspired by the colors of the leather flag including connotations of some hanky code colors. The outer gray band incorporates the use of Morse code, spelling the words, “SIR BOY SLAVE”, surrounding this dynamic family and indicates how one needs to explore deeper than the surface in order to decipher the true meaning of one's inner self and true happiness. The mission of the NLA-CO was to develop and implement non-partisan community focused activities and events for the Colorado BDSM/Kink/Leather/Fetish community regardless of ability, gender, gender identity, age, ethnicity or affiliation.
